Table for Six: A Wine Tasting Dinner at Spago Beverly Hills
Six guests. Four wines. One unforgettable evening.
There are wine dinners—and then there are evenings designed around the simple pleasure of discovering what is in your glass.
Beverly Hills Wine Club invites a select group of wine enthusiasts to join us for Table for Six: A Wine Tasting Dinner at Spago Beverly Hills, an intimate evening combining exceptional food, sommelier-curated wines and the spirited conversation that happens when a great bottle is placed in front of curious people.
For this gathering, we are intentionally keeping the table small. Just six guests will gather in the main dining room at one of Beverly Hills’ most celebrated culinary destinations, creating the kind of intimate setting where everyone becomes part of the conversation.
An Evening That Begins at the Bar
Our evening begins at 5:30 PM with a private meet and greet at the bar.
From 5:30–6:15 PM, guests can settle in, enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine, meet fellow members and begin the evening’s conversation before we move to the dining room.
At 6:30 PM, we’ll take our seats for dinner.
And that’s when the tasting begins.
Four Wines. No Labels. No Preconceptions.
The wine component of the evening has been designed around one of our favorite ways to experience wine: blind tasting.
A sommelier-curated selection of four wines—two whites and two reds— will be served during dinner with the identities of the wines concealed.
No producer. No vintage. No appellation. No price tag.
Just the wine.
Without the influence of a familiar label or reputation, guests are encouraged to focus on what is actually in the glass: aroma, texture, acidity, structure, fruit character, oak, tannin, finish and overall balance.
Is that white Burgundy—or California Chardonnay?
Old World or New World?
Cabernet Sauvignon or something masquerading as Cabernet?
And perhaps the most dangerous question of the evening:
“What do you think this bottle costs?”
That’s the fun of blind tasting.
There are no wrong answers—only observations, educated guesses, surprises and, occasionally, wonderfully confident guesses that turn out to be completely wrong.
Dinner at Spago Beverly Hills
The tasting will unfold alongside dinner in the main dining room at Spago Beverly Hills, Wolfgang Puck’s iconic Beverly Hills destination.
Rather than prescribing a fixed menu, guests will have the freedom to order from the open menu, selecting the dishes that appeal most to them while enjoying the wines selected for the table.
This format allows the evening to remain both structured and spontaneous: four carefully selected wines provide the framework, while the food, conversation and discoveries around the table make the experience uniquely our own.
The Table Wine Experience
Each guest will contribute $100 toward the evening’s shared wine budget.
That contribution creates a collective pool for the sommelier-curated selection and allows the table to explore wines that might otherwise be difficult to experience in a traditional dinner setting.
Dinner is $125 per guest, with the open menu allowing everyone to choose according to their own tastes.
Any meal or beverage charges exceeding the $125 dining allocation will be settled with the host at the conclusion of the evening.
Why Six?
Because sometimes smaller is better.
A table of six gives us enough people for differing perspectives without losing the intimacy that makes a wine dinner memorable.
Everyone has a voice.
Everyone gets a pour.
Everyone has an opinion.
And when the bottles are finally revealed, everyone gets to discover whether their palate was as clever as they thought it was.
That’s the essence of Beverly Hills Wine Club: good wine, great company and exceptional experiences.
The Reveal
At some point during dinner, the mystery ends.
The bottles are unveiled.
Producer. Region. Vintage. Varietal. Story.
Perhaps the wine you thought was the night’s bargain turns out to be the most expensive bottle on the table.
Perhaps the bottle you dismissed becomes your favorite.
Perhaps your blind-tasting notes were remarkably accurate.
Or perhaps they weren’t even close.
Either way, The Reveal is part of the experience.
Because wine is not merely something we drink.
It’s something we explore.
